Hi! I am Rachel Heath. I'm from Henderson, KY and I am excited to be the coordinator for Webster County High School's Capstone Learning Center. I graduated from Campbellsville University with a degree in Sports Ministry. I was a missionary in Hawaii for a year and half where I served as the sports outreach coordinator for the Baptist Campus Ministries. I served as the college and career coach for three and a half years at Henderson County High School. I also helped coach the volleyball team. I came to Webster County in 2015-16 to serve as the Capstone Learning Center Coordinator. Capstone Learning Center's Summer Program is free for any incoming 9th-12th grader.  There will be bus transportation provided from each elementary school.  You must attend 2 days of the weekly activities in order to go on the field trips.  Students text 81010 with the message @clcstud to get text updates.  Parents text 81010 with the message @clcpar to get text updates.  Contact Rachel Heath, Capstone Learning Center Coordinator, for further details or questions 270-639-0179.

Capstone Learning Center Celebrates Successful First Year

                                                              Annual Celebration Dinner

The WCHS 21st Century Capstone Learning Center hosted its first Annual Celebration Dinner on May 3rd, 2016. Capstone Coordinator, Rachel Heath, coordinated the event which honored Capstone students, parents and staff. The event celebrated the success of Capstone's first year and noted that over 400 WCHS students attended Capstone during the 2015-16 school year.  Ms. Heath specifically recognized those WCHS students who were in attendance for 30+ days, 40+ days, 50+ days, 60+ days and 70+ days. Erin Harvey and Travis Coomer received the Highest Attendance Award. As a way to say "thank you," Capstone students prepared and served a meal to administrators, bus drivers, partners, volunteers, teachers and student tutors, support staff, food services workers and custodians. Capstone has a summer program planned and free breakfast and lunch will be served. Bus transportation is available at each of the elementary schools for pick up and drop off. Dr. Yarbrough Announces WCHS is Recipient of 21st Century Learning Center Grant

Dr. Yarbrough was notified on May 11th that our district received the 2015 21st Century Learning Center Grant for WCHS. This grant will support the new WCHS CAPSTONE LEARNING CENTER and will provide a total of $690,000.00 over a five year time period for enrichment, tutoring, STEM activities and other great learning experiences before and after school for our WCHS students. Written into this grant are opportunities like a Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP), Robotics Team, Aerospace Club, LEADERSHIP WCHS,  and other art/drama experiences.  We will also be able to provide transportation for students who participate in the afterschool opportunities once again!!!  KUDOS to Rhonda Callaway and Carolyn Sholar for working with me to write this important grant for WCHS students. The Webster County School District has been the recipient of 7 grants this school year totaling $1,710,600.00!!
